San Pancho Days has been celebrated for over forty five years. From September 26th through October 4th the town dresses up and organizes this nine-day festival, a mixture of religious and pagan themes. This festival celebrates and worships Saint Francis of Assisi (the Patron Saint of San Pancho) and Jesus Christ. The villagers gather everyday at five o'clock in the morning to sing songs at the church for the different saints. A highlight of the celebration is the arrival of the torch runners, who have run as much as 12 hours from a distant village bearing a lit torch destined for services at the church.
